House Sparrows, Let's do something to save the endangered BIRDS

 

GOD created many creatures in the world so that beautiful nature could be created but God created birds and added to the beauty of nature. Suppose the creation of nature was incomplete without birds. We are talking about a small bird called a domestic bird. In English it is called sparrow. It was the highlight of the Punjab. They used to be common 15-16 years ago, but since the advent of human progress, it has become very difficult to see them. Materialism had not yet begun to expand its sphere. In those days it was common to see it sometimes in the yard, sometimes on the roof of the house, on the trees in the yard. These birds became an integral part of human life. Most people woke up in the morning with their voices. As if it were an alarm set for them. These chi chi chi chi voices were often heard.

The pace of progress accelerated over time. The widening of roads and the construction of bridges destroyed their homes. The tree was cut down indiscriminately and there was no room for nests. The courtyards of the houses became more and more solid, the water of the rivers began to dissolve with chemicals. The development of agriculture became dependent on chemical fertilizers and pesticides, making it difficult for birds to feed and taking care of their baby sparrows. The only way left for them was to migrate. With the help of migration, the birds disappeared from the cities. In contrast, dark brown sparrows are still common today.

Over usage of pesticides, deforestation, increasing urbanization, air & water pollution, increasing number of mobile towers, etc. are playing a major role in the extinction of sparrows and other birds. Man needs to change his habits. If man does not change his habits then this lovely bird will be gone forever. One day these sparrows will be able to see only in pictures. Many species of birds are on the verge of extinction in India. Sparrows are rarely seen in urban areas. To create awareness among the people about the endangered birds, Delhi has registered the domestic bird sparrow as the state bird. In addition, World Sparrow Day is celebrated worldwide on March 20^th every year.

Due to high temperatures in summer season, natural water sources start drying up. There is a shortage of drinking water for the birds. As a result, many birds die due to lack of drinking water. Our first duty is to provide drinking water for the birds in the summer season. To help the birds, we can fill earthenware pots with water on the roofs of our homes, offices, shops, etc. Our little courage will save the lives of many birds. It would be better to change the water in this vessel twice a day and also to keep the grains for the birds to eat. In addition, small wooden houses can be set up in different places for the birds to live. These small houses also look beautiful and protect the birds from heat, cold, rain, wind etc.

We must all come forward to save the birds from extinction so that future generations can enjoy its natural beauty.
