Punjab is the Persian word made of two words Punj(five) + Aab(water) which means LAND OF FIVE RIVERS. Sutlej, Ravi, Beas, Chenab, Jhelum are the five rivers of Punjab. But at present only three rivers Sutlej, Ravi, Beas is flown and other two are now in Punjab Province of Pakistan.The Punjab state of India is divided according to flow of these rivers into Majha,Malwa and Doaba.
